Rolf & Daughters

In preparation for this trip I read an assortment of Nashville must see lists and everywhere I looked, Rolf & Daughters popped up! I was extremely excited to check out this restaurant while we were in town and it definitely did not disappoint.

The restaurant itself is located in a bizarre industrial meets suburban area; let’s just say the girls were a little concerned where exactly I was taking them as we drove to dinner. Rolf & Daughters (R&D for short) takes a limited number of reservations but we left things to chance and showed up at around 6pm on a Friday night. We were offered to wait about an hour, or be seated right away outside. The weather was only the slightest bit nippy so we grabbed the table!

First? Cocktails, but of course!

R&D is all about the sharable plates and share we did!

Dry aged beef tartare over toast with salsa verde-

Crostini with red kuri squash, ricotta, pecan and dandelion-

Meg and Denise looking adorable in between courses!

On top: Pastured chicken, preserved lemon and garlic confit-

On bottom: lamb sausage, charred eggplant, yogurt, green tomato and dates-

Tellegio tortellini, savoy cabbage, pear and poppy seed-

When the dessert menu arrived the drinks had definitely kicked in since we just ordered one of everything!

Pear almond tart-

The mousse-

Zeppole (aka Italian donut like pastries)-

I loved everything at R&D, top to bottom. I noted when I popped inside for the restroom that the atmosphere inside versus outside was like night and day. While it was loud, exciting and buzzing inside, things were quiet, laid back and calm around our table outside. Both are fun; it’s just something to keep in mind when you visit!

Rolf & Daughters is located at 700 Taylor Street in Nashville.
