Where to even begin?

Last Wednesday was amazing. I’m a proud American and I absolutely love my country so it meant more than I can express to see democracy as it should be.

It was utterly heartbreaking to see such high security because of the disgrace that occurred a few weeks ago.

President-elect Joe Biden, his wife Jill Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff arrive at the steps of the U.S. Capitol for the start of the official inauguration ceremonies, in Washington.

So much could be said about the last four years and the last president. But that’s the past. Good riddance to all that. I’m choosing to focus on all the hope now for the future and I’m going to enjoy having a real leader.

Bernie Sanders is my spirit animal. He embodied what I’ve been saying for years; when it’s cold, fuck fashion. There comes a temperature when it’s too damn cold to care; being stylish simply doesn’t matter. And I love that he was frugal and wore gloves given to him.

That being said…can we talk about Kamala Harris? As a strong women it’s about damn time we have a female VP and she’s just going to slay. There’s SO many things she brings to the table, but my top is she’s bringing a spotlight to fashion.

I know what you’re thinking. “Really Logan? How vapid. You’ve got this powerful woman and you’re most focused on her clothes?”

Well, I’m excited because clothing can be a real powerful statement. Example: Kamala’s outfit featured pieces by two black designers. This is one reason I’m so royally obsessed; The Duchesses always have meaning behind what they wear. Michelle Obama paved the way, and I’m excited Kamala will bring focus to this on our side of the pond.

PS: You MUST watch the concert they did.

Here’s to a new chapter!
