Summer Check In

My grandma used to say “some days you eat the bear and some days the bear eats you.” It’s been the latter this week. I’m decreasing one of my medications per consultation with my doctor so I have a very short fuse. I have a lot on my to do list and am having a lot of spinning my wheels moments. I’ve really felt behind the 8 ball.

I’m reading The Premonition by Michael Lewis. It’s the definition of knowledge being power. It’s a fascinating history of how we’ve dealt with outbreaks in the past as well as about the current pandemic. I, know having read this, put 0% faith in what the CDC says. I’ve always been this way, and now am more set on this, I prefer making my own opinions with facts versus blindly following advice.

Kevin and I went to the Botanic Gardens this weekend. They have posted signs that per the CDC if your vaccinated you don’t need to wear a mask. While some people wore masks most didn’t. We wore masks because we’re not there yet.Was it hot AF? Yes. Annoying? Yup. But a great example of how I’m controlling what I’m comfortable with versus letting someone else dictate what to do.
